The Maestro
Born in San Luis Atolotitlán, Puebla, in the Mixteca Poblana region, Félix Macedas Ginés is a fourth-generation mezcal producer carrying on a family tradition that spans generations. He learned the craft from his father, Roberto Macedas García, who has dedicated more than 50 years to mezcal production.
The Macedas operation remains entirely family-run. Félix oversees every stage of production, from cultivating and harvesting the maguey to gathering firewood and guiding the distillation process. His hands-on approach reflects a deep commitment to preserving the traditions, knowledge, and character of mezcal made in his family's homeland.
